I frequently have the honor of capturing other photographers and their family during their Hawaii family vacation. As a Big Island photographer, capturing other photographer’s family is always a little nerve-wracking. But mostly a heaping lot of fun! Toni’s family visits the Big Island often and this area in Waikoloa means a lot to the family. It only makes sense that I photograph their family in a place so memorable to her girls. Fun fact: I have actually have never been here before despite it being a location 20 minutes away from my house. But because Toni is also a fellow photographer, I trusted that she picked a beautiful spot. Also, anywhere really on the west side gets that awesome Kona sunset and photographs beautifully 99% of the time.
I work pretty frequently to the north side of this beach but never really explored this far south. And if not for this beautiful ohana—I would likely never found another magical location on the west side. There are so many awesome spots but there is never enough.
