Are you a couple considering the Big Island for your destination wedding venue? Choosing a location for such a monumental day of your lives can be overwhelming. I have been a photographer on the Big Island for six years and so I hope by sharing my favorite Big Island wedding venues I can help you narrow down your choices. And in no particular order, here are my Big Island Wedding Venues:
Papa Kona is located right in the heart of downtown Kona. It is such a unique and gorgeous wedding venue right on the water with a beautiful sandy beach, which is not as easy to find in the Big Island particularly right in downtown Kona. You are surrounded by incredible places to stay which means you can technically walk to you wedding and walk back to your hotel! Also their wedding and events team are the absolute best at planning your day! I honestly cannot recommend their team enough, they will ensure an amazing experience for you and your guests.

Kahua Ranch was established in the mid 1800s and is one of Hawaii’s oldest. It sits at 3200 feet and therefore offers a cooler getaway from the beach. Therefore, it is perfect for couples who want something a little different from the typical Hawaii beach wedding yet still have those gorgeous Hawaii views. This spectacular wedding venue is found in North Kohala and offers stunning views of the Kohala hills and the Pacific Ocean. Because of its high elevation, rolling clouds can often be expected in the late afternoons bringing stunning golden sunsets!

If you are into an oceanfront chapel or garden ceremony this is the place for you! While the wedding chapel accommodates a smaller wedding party, its outdoor event spaces can fit so much more! This venue boasts stunning views of Keahou Bay. And while there isn’t a sandy beach on the property, nothing beats the black lava rock shoreline plus the rock cliffs found on the south end of the property for the most incredible ocean backdrops for your wedding photos!
