Carolynn and Doug’s day was among the last few Hawaii destination wedding I photographed on the Big before the world changed. This day was unusually crazy windy and stormy on the Big Island. I was crossing everything in me to wish for the clouds to blow the other way. And for the rain to hold out until after the sunset. But even in the pouring rain, nothing was going to get in the way of the immense love and beauty of this wedding day! The warmth from their families and the intense devotion Carolynn and Doug had for each other trumped the gray skies and the showers that came in the middle of the ceremony.
We were then blessed with a beautiful rainbow over south Kohala. On top of that, they also had one of the most stunning sunsets I have ever photographed! The couple danced their first dance on their wedding day in that glorious golden Kona sunset! Check out the photos from their day below!
