As a Hawaii Big Island Wedding Photographer, I have heard this phrase a few times in the past few years! “Let’s go get married on the Big Island – just the two of us!” I hear this from so many awesome adventurous couples I have met since becoming a wedding and elopement photographer in Hawaii. Intimate Big Island weddings and adventure elopements are truly just as special! If a big wedding is not for you, don’t do it! There are many more ways to celebrate your day and make it uniquely yours!

This was Mario and Aurora’s big day! It was a gorgeous, warm, and sunny day in Kona. We started the day at The Royal Kona hotel in Kona where Mario and Aurora got ready for the day. Getting ready in the same room, while trying not to see each other went surprisingly smoothly! The atrium downstairs, set right in the middle of the hotel’s Lagoon Tower made the perfect location for their first look!

Afterward, we all drove over to one of my favorite spots in the Kona area, Kukio Beach. There, we met Becky the officiant of their wedding ceremony. We ended the day back at Royal Kona for a beautiful intimate fully prepared chef’s dinner. Royal Kona Wedding and Event Team put together a stunning intimate reception! A perfect way to celebrate their day of eloping in Hawaii.
