There is something about a Kukio beach elopement that make moments truly special. To be that one other person (besides the officiant) to be a physical witness and document such as huge step in a couple’s journey is a pleasure I don’t for one-second take for granted. Alyssa and Alex flew all the way from Canada to get married in one of the best spots on the Big Island. About a week before, I had been closely monitoring the weather. This winter has been a little bit crazy for the entire island chain. Two days before their big day, it was forecasted to rain the entire day of their wedding. But 24 hrs later that forecast changed to cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. Now, having shot on the island especially the west coast beaches for almost four years, I don’t usually worry unless I am seeing a 60% or more chance of rain. So that sketchy forecast just hours prior turned into a crazy amazing sunset! What a joy to capture this elopement for Alyssa and Alex!
