Big Island Weddings | Painted Church & Royal Kona

The many different types of Big Island weddings to be had in Hawaii are a huge selling point for this destination locale! From your typical picturesque beach wedding to ranch and garden weddings and even church weddings! I do not get to photograph as many indoor church weddings these days. But the lovely thing about Hawaii is even if you have your wedding indoors, you can really still have everything else Hawaii has to offer.

Big Island Weddings in Kona

This is so true for Francis and Cheryl’s wedding earlier this year on the Big Island. Their beautiful day involved trips to the famous Painted Church, Kona beaches, and the sweet reception at the garden in Royal Kona. The day started out on a sunny morning at the beautiful Royal Kona Hotel right in downtown Kona. Cheryl and Francis got ready with their families and closest friends. Then, we headed south to St. Benedict’s Painted Church for their wedding ceremony. This lovely little church in Kealakekua Bay was built in 1899 and had just amazing artwork all over the inside. You must check out their wedding ceremony photos or take a quick trip to Kealakekua to visit the church.

Before we headed to their garden reception at Royal Kona, we stopped by the Kona Old Airport Beach Park. The flexibility in your timeline can let you soak in all the beauty this island has to offer! On your wedding day– you can truly have it all!
