Take me back to early 2019 – to this Kona Big Island engagement session! This was such a fun engagement session at Mahai’ula Bay at the Kekaha Kai Park in Kona. This location is quite popular for sunset this time of the year! It takes about a 10-15 super bumpy drive over unpaved roads but completely and totally 100% worth it! I continue to be amazed by the landscape the Big Island has to offer and it is truly unique in comparison to all the other Hawaii islands. I especially find it exciting when a couple prefers a more off-the-beaten-path location primarily because the session feels even more special to me as an artist, and the location offers a bit more privacy! Truly a win-win situation!
We had the best weather and ended the session with a stunning sunset. Just a perfect day for Jon and Carol’s engagement session in Hawaii. To inquire about an engagement session with me, send me a message HERE!
The bumpy drive on the way over was well worth it! This beach is stunning and I was able to create amazing engagement photos for these two. We started on the south of the beach and took advantage of the immense diversity in backdrops and light at this location. It is so hard to pick my favorite corner on this beach–too gorgeous everywhere! We ended the shoot on the north end just by the trail that leads to Makalawena Beach. It is a great place to see more of the sunsetting over the water!
