Did you know that my first time ever visiting Hawaii was for our Hawaii honeymoon? Yep. We went to Maui and immediately fell in love with Hawaii. We vowed that one day we will move here. Having grown up in the Philippines, Hawaii instantly felt like home after living in the Midwest for close to a decade. Four years later, a work opportunity came up for my husband and we took that as a sign! We have zero regrets so far!
Hawaii is quite famous as a major world honeymoon destination! This is what brought Keri and Andy to the Big Island this year. They got married on the mainland with a Hawaii-themed wedding — I mean come on! No other way to complete that than with a honeymoon on the Big Island!
Hawaii Honeymoon Photos on the Big Island
Keri and Andy wanted to experience the amazing diversity in scenery and geography this island has to offer. So for their session, we decided to hit two amazing locations. We started the shoot at Kiholo Bay to get those black sand beaches and rocky cliff views. As a photographer, I absolutely love the rugged feel of Kiholo and the sweeping views it offers! If you are looking for a more off-the-beaten-path with hardly any people around–this is the spot!
After having the best time there, we drove just a few miles down the road to Kukio beach to experience white sandy beaches and that crazy gorgeous Hawaiian sunset over the ocean. Keri had extra time and was able to switch to another outfit! The best thing was we saw a sea turtle!!
